Four police officers arrested for extortion in Colombo

Colombo, Sep 18 (Daily Mirror) - The Modara Police have arrested four police officers for allegedly threatening a household in Colombo 15 and extorting Rs. 1.4 million, police said.

The arrested individuals include two constables and a sergeant from the Bloemendhal Police, as well as an officer from the Colombo North Intelligence Unit.

This is why bodycam should be mandatory for police officers. Such a simple thing still cannot be done by the government. Also install cctv cameras near potential traffic violation areas so that those officers can be used to solve serious crimes.

There are bad eggs every where. When the top brass in the Police force have been found fault by the SC the virus spread faster than light. Good work by the Police to arrest these corrupt officers.

Arrests only occurs when the gang of four failed to inform their counterparts, to share part of the loot.
