Fuel price revision tonight, no bus fare revision again

Colombo, June 30 (Daily Mirror) - A fuel price revision will take place tonight, the Power and Energy Ministry said.

An official from the Ministry said the revision will take place according to the monthly fuel revision.

However, the Private Bus Owners' Associations said there will be no price revision again if the diesel prices are reduced tonight.

According to the fuel price revision, the bus fare was reduced by 5% and it will be effective from tomorrow.

The minimum bus fare was announced as Rs. 28

They should reduce all fuel excluding kerosene and normal diesel and see the reaction of bus guys! But even is petrol is reduced, 3 wheeler guys may increase fares.

This reduction in minimum fare is such a joke and to ensure that the bus fellows get their Rs30. The conductor will never give the Rs2 balance, and hardly any passenger will ask for the balance as you cannot but even buy a toffee for Rs2.

The politicians overlooking this function is like a magician increasing the price of fuel and reducing the price of fuel. This is called misdirection in the jargon of the magician which enables him to divert the attention of the spectators from what they are exactly doing.
