Gammanpila’s travel ban temporarily lifted to read PhD

Colombo, Jan 31 (Daily Mirror) - The Colombo High Court today permitted Parliamentarian Udaya Gammanpila to travel China to read for his PhD.

Former Minister Gammanpila whose passport was impounded by Court for allegedly misappropriating Rs. 20 million following the alleged fraudulent share transaction that had taken place in 2000, sought the Colombo High Court’s permission to temporarily lift his travel ban.

Court was informed that Gammanpila is expecting to travel to China occasionally to read for a PhD.
