The Government expects to sign a new staff level agreement with the IMF by Friday, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake told Parliament today.

He said sperate agreemts will be signed with each of the official creditors.

Yes its good to sign the staff level agreement now because once the 4th installment of the current loan is given by mid next year once again we as a nation will require a IMF loan by early 2027. So better start now.
