Government stabilised country within three months: Nalinda

Colombo, December 30 (Daily Mirror)- The government has been able to stabilise the country within three months where some halted foreign funded projects have recommenced while discussions have been initiated to bring in new investments, Health Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said today.

He told reporters after assuming duties as the chairman of the District Development Committee of the Kalutara District that the President was able to discuss with Finance Ministry and other state officials and take clear decisions in stabilising the country despite claims of the Opposition that the economy will run into bankruptcy again.

The Minister said local and international entrepreneurs and investors have developed confidence in the country and added that the share market has also seen a drastic growth recently.

AKD must get a control over his parliamentarians who utter rubbish as this. They are killing the hopes of the large majority who voted NPP. Citizens know there will be greater hardships to begin with followed by slow progress as the country stabilises. People who voted NPP are intelligent enough to realise this and will wait patiently. However, the initial few months of NPP government has not been smooth due to these utterances and certain behaviours of NPP members. AKD has a gigantic task but please don't allow NPP representatives to utter such garbage.
