Government to boost IT workforce to 200,000 in five years

The government is expecting to increase the number of Information Technology (IT) professionals to 200,000 within five years to meet the challenges of the global IT market.

He said that only 85,000 IT specialists are currently available in the country.

Create an IT City/Park close to the Jaffna University and give the space at a very concessionary Rent for the first 3 years for entrepreneurs who want to set up IT companies only in this city. (A fully facilitated campus kind of area). Diaspora will come and invest.
