Government to introduce two bills on gender equality, women’s empowerment

Colombo, March 08 (Daily Mirror)- Two new legislations which ensure women’s rights and economic empowerment were announced by the government today as the country marked the International Women’s Day with the rest of the world.

Addressing the International Women’s Day celebration today, President Ranil Wickremesinghe announced that two bills focusing on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment will be introduced to Parliament in May.

The Women's Empowerment Act was officially gazetted yesterday and the Gender Equality Act is set to be gazetted next week.

Excellent news unelected master debating president is taking law into his own hand to master debate on mile high club on his steamy double bed. He loves internal work externally to develop my country over 50 years. All the normal folks are struggling to walk having spent one night stand on mile high club. He loves making statements about how he can master debate foreign leaders and turn his front and back to stay in the limelight forever.

This is a waste of time and only adds to the record of paper bills passed. Outside, when women particularly mothers are protesting against the burdens imposed on them, they are water cannoned and baton charged. What hierocracy is this.

In an era people struggling to preserve unique gender identity, a report reveals that, 40% of our females cannot afford for their personal sanitary needs. The COL and taxes on sanitary items, prevent them spending the minimum requirement of Rs 375/= for one month. It also revales that this tax income for the govt. for one year is only negligible 0.002%. Leader of the opposition has to discuss this with the govt. to cancel these taxes.
