The Grama Niladhari Trade Union Alliance (GNTUA) has decided to continue with their work-to-rule campaign today.

The co-conveners of the alliance said the decision was taken following an unproductive meeting with the representatives of the Prime Minister yesterday.

They said their trade union action was based on several issues concerning the constitution of Grama Niladhari services and not increasing the allowances.

Heard that government will be sacking all pro jvp gramasewakas and going to appioint new once. If so, it is a great. It will help to secure more votes from the floating voter base. Good job RW. Do same for educational sector too.

Get rid of these fellows! They are gathering data at local level, not a good sign if the details get into the hands of subversives! Our local one got a earful from me , not everyone would do it because most depend on them. They ‘profile’ households.
