Gruesome recovery: head of elephant found

Kirindi Oya (Daily Mirror) -The head of a wild elephant, which had been separated from its trunk, was found in Kirindi Oya by the locals.

The skull and one ear of the head have been cut off. Local residents suspect that this elephant was shot and killed in another place, cut into parts and then put in to the Kirindi Oya.

So far, only the head of the wild elephant has been found, and the officials of the Wellawaya Wildlife Office are conducting investigations to find the remaining parts of the wild elephant’s body.

The barbaric sadistic primitive savages are at it again, destroying our beloved and highly valuable elephants. Such sadism in a country steeped in the traditions of Buddhism is just beyond me and many other for sure. How this even happens in a country like this, shows what a shameful citizenry we have here, committing atrocities as heinous as this and getting away “scott free.” Only the scum of society can abuse, torture, maim and kill such majestic creatures and be at large after doing all of the above. The ‘prevention of cruelty to animals act’ has to be implemented with immediate effect and a death penalty imposed on killing one of our few national treasures we have going for us here. Shameful.
