Harsha quotes Daily Mirror on red rice shortage

Quoting the Daily Mirror news article on "Queues are back", SJB MP Harsha De Silva questioned the government on the shortage of red rice and selling red rice exceeding the controlled price.

MP De Silva told Parliament that the Daily Mirror has reported today that a kilo of red rice is sold at Rs. 265 in Ambalantota and questioned how a kilo of red rice is sold at Rs. 265 when the controlled price is Rs. 220.

The MP challenged the government to sue the Daily Mirror if the news report is false.

"In the Southern Province, we eat red rice. The government had three months but it failed even to import red rice," he said.

How can you say so? There are people who cannot consume white rice. White rice lack fiber. White rice isn't good for diabetes and weight watchers which is true.

White Nadu rice imported from India is not Nadu at all. It's Sticky rice which has a high content of starch. Sticky rice isn't good for diabetes and weight watchers. Nadu rice does not contain starch. Over to you Consumer Protection Authority.

Public suffering from higher prices and shortage of essential food items. We can’t go like this. When the time comes, they have to face the consequences. Harsha should regret for not allowing Sajith to takeover from Gota. When Sajith was offered to become president Harsha freightened him with untold consequences. Now those in the SJB can only sit and complain only.
