Colombo, August 09 (Daily Mirror) -  The Meteorological Department has issued a weather advisory for several regions, anticipating fairly heavy showers exceeding 50 mm in some areas of Northern and North-central provinces over the next 24 hours. 

Residents of the Western Province, as well as the Galle and Matara districts, should also prepare for intermittent showers and thundershowers throughout the day, according to the Meteorological Department.  

These conditions are expected to persist, with showers or thundershowers forecasted to occur at several locations across the island, particularly during the evening and night, the Department added.
