Colombo, October 13 (Daily Mirror)- Former Member of Parliament Hirunika Premachandra has resigned as the National Organiser of the Samagi Vanitha Balavegaya.

She told a news conference that however, she will contest the general elections from the Colombo District.

Very good, excellent news, AKD fever grippling the political world in Sri Lanka. Previously they used to resign from a loosing party and join the winning party. This time the winning party does not accept anyone with tarnished characters. Even Rajan Ramanayake was refused. So they are backing away now.

Why blame Ranil for Sajith's stupidity? Sajith made a lot of offers and promises to woo defectors into his fold for the presidential election. The chickens have now come home to roost. Example Champika was promised 12 slots for his folk and reality dictated that only 2 could be provided. The list goes on an d on .... Then deletion of names made at the very last moment before filing nominations surprising and disappointing those who worked hard based on promises received and deals made. Its not Ranil's fault that Sajith made these unreasonable promises to all and sundry. Sajith won the battle with Ranil and divided they lost the war of the presidency.

Probably this is good for sjb. She has a pending court case and she will get defeated anyway. If Sajith wish to win in 2029 he should bring in new young team. Also he should take a step back and get someone well educated and intelligent as their presidential candidate.

Wow, if SP cannot keep peace and manage his own party why should we vote his party to govern SL? He is not even polite to ladies in his own party, educated???? First it was Thalatha, now Hirunika? Hirunika is an iron lady who started the protest campaign against GR. She went ahead with her plan without fear until the objective was acgieved on getting rid of GR. SJB was so lucky to have her in their camp. Sadly they have a weak leader in Sajith who has anxiety attacks

Adrian I totally agree with you. Hirunika is a brave lady who fought back to chase Gota the good for nothing scare crow and Mina Mahinda who looted the country and brought a crisis for our motherland. Sajith is not a firm leader who can lead the country. He must either step down or be on a side and allow Harsha and Eran to run the show.
