Hit-and-run cab driver arrested after fatal accident in Anuradhapura

Anuradhapura, March 9 (Daily Mirror) - Police arrested the cab driver involved in a hit-and-run accident at Rambewa in Anuradhapura early this morning.

Three individuals were killed and two women sustained injuries when a cab collided against a group of pedestrians.

Following the incident, the cab driver fled the scene but was later arrested along with two passengers at the Anuradhapura-Jaffna interchange.

The suspects, identified as employees of a vehicle repair shop, were reportedly returning from a musical event when the accident occured.

The driver, reportedly only 18 years old lacked a valid driver's license.

Most of young drivers who drives expensive vheicles are careless ignorant crazy knuckle heads this fellows must be given heavy punishments hit and run is a terrible crime if someone is killed if stoped woukd have saved by taking to hospital immediately very sad to see people have no feelings for others tough law and order must be introduced to stop all from driving like idiot's.....

This vehicle refers to a truck. Not a cab (AKA double cab) so don’t connect with politicians, maybe vegetable transport only. Double cabs (referred as cabs) run by politicians will come into play when the subversives are voted in to run the country!

Each and every driver, regardless of their age, must be 'indoctrinated' at the time of issuing a driver's license, via a 30 minute SIT-DOWN SESSION - via a professionally created VIDEO showing them their core responibilities and horrors of fleeing the scene of an accident (supported by graphic details and clips of such accidents) caused by callous and irresponsible drivers, depriving and denying the victim(s) of their best chances of recovery from injury or death. Of course, the rule of law must apply to the highest degree for such offenders who knock down innocent pedestrians and flee, leaving them to die on the roads. This should apply not just for humans, but also for animals too in a country where people are known to be driven by METTA and COMPASSION !
