IMF Chief commends Sri Lanka’s reform commitment



Washington, Oct 22 (Daily Mirror) - International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva praised the country's commitment to reform efforts during a meeting with the visiting Sri Lanka delegation, reaffirming its support for the nation's progress under IMF programme.

The IMF Managing Director met with the Sri Lankan delegation led by Finance Ministry Secretary Mahinda Siriwardana and Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe in Washington DC for talks.

"Had a great discussion with Sri Lanka’s delegation. Encouraged by the authorities’ commitment to continue the reform efforts to safeguard the hard-won gains under the IMF-supported program. The IMF remains committed to supporting Sri Lanka to build a better future for its people," Ms Georgieva said on X, after her meeting with the Sri Lankan delegation.
