ITAK will not nominate candidate for Presidential Election

The Ilankai Thamil Arasu Katchchi (ITAK) will not nominate a candidate for the upcoming Presidential Election, said Tamil National Alliance (TNA) MP M.A. Sumanthiran.

According to Sumanthiran, the party will still hold discussions with the main candidates

However, several Tamil political parties and civil society activists recently signed an agreement to field a common Tamil candidate for the upcoming Sri Lankan Presidential Election.

First of all elect a leader to your party (ITAK) Introduce paper ballot system in party elections in the presence of all eligible members. That's call democracy. Raising both hands during voting is a disgrace.

Tamils contesting in the president poll in a Tamil party is a waste of time. You may say this to show the world the Tamils plight in Sri Lanka BUT the peoples of the world know the plight of the Tamils. Tamils should be a candidate in the main party as a unified candidate.

It is high time to disband ITAK that deceived the people for decades. It is joke for them to make statement to not to nominate candidate for presidential election. C V Vigneshwaran is another joker who is not at suitable to hold any position. During his tenure as the Chief Minister for Northern Province he did nothing and the funds allocated was duly sent back. ITAK is also a jokers paradise.
