If govt. secures three meals a day throughout the year, it’s enough: Namal

Colombo, January 1 (Daily Mirror) - If the current government can ensure that people have at least three meals a day throughout the year, then that will be enough, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa said.

He made this comment while travelling in the front passenger seat of a Viva Elite car with Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam.

Speaking to a television cameraman, he remarked that he was "practicing" to see how it works. Sagara Kariyawasam was driving, while MP Rajapaksa sat in the passenger seat.

MP Rajapaksa commented that the new year was going well so far. Responding to the cameraman, he said, "It’s okay if we keep going like this, but it would be better if the government ensures that people can have at least three meals a day throughout the year."

"People gave power to the government," he continued. "It’s fine for us to travel in small cars or buses, as Ministers and parliamentarians are now claiming to do. But what really matters is for the government to restore the economy and improve people’s lives,” Rajapaksa added.
