COLOMBO (Daily Mirror) - Attorney-at-law Kalinga Indatissa (PC) yesterday informed Maligakanda Magistrate Lochani Abeywickrama that the mastermind of the case of importing substandard vials of immunoglobulin and distributing them to government hospitals is in the cabinet and challenged the Criminal Investigations Department to arrest him if they can.
Attorney-at-law Indatissa who represented the suspect in this incident also said that no matter what the court thinks, the two people involved in this crime would not be arrested by the police.
Claiming that without arresting the real culprits for not following the tender procedure PC Indatissa questioned why his client was arrested who innocently followed the proper tender procedure without arresting him.
Taking into consideration the facts presented, the magistrate rejected the suspect's bail request and remanded him in custody until November 29.
