Inaugural Lanka T10 league in December

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) will conduct the first ever Lanka T10 League, the latest addition in the domestic cricket calendar, in December this year.

The tournament was initially planned for June, but was moved to December, as SLC deemed a December window as most appropriate.

The league will attract "the finest international stars" SLC said in a media release, playing alongside Sri Lanka's top international players.

"I am extremely confident that this tournament will become a success story and help Sri Lanka Cricket keep abreast with the evolving trends of the game," Shammi Silva, President SLC was quoted as saying.

The tournament will feature six men’s teams and four women’s teams, with each team consisting of a squad of 16 players, along with six foreign players.

The Lead Event Rights Partner for the event is TTen Sports Management and TTen Global Sports together with Innovative Production Group FZE (IPG)) as a consortium, the release said.
