India pledges unconditional support for Sri Lanka’s sports development



Colombo, Jan 06 (Daily Mirror) - India has pledged to provide unconditional support for the development of sports in Sri Lanka, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports said. 

This commitment was made during a meeting between Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha and Sri Lanka's Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sunil Kumara Gamage. 

The Indian High Commissioner expressed that support will be extended for sports development initiatives across the country, focusing on a range of sports, including cricket. 

He emphasised the goal of further strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in the field of youth affairs.

High Commissioner Jha also invited Sri Lanka's Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports to visit the Indian Youth Affairs Division as part of this collaboration.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs Eranga Gunasekara and Deputy Minister of Sports Sugath Thilakaratne.
