Residents of Iranaitivu Island in Kilinochchi have launched a protest against the government’s move to bury COVID-19 victims in the island.

They claimed that they have no risk of COVID-19 at the moment and said they strongly object to the government’s decision. (Sithum Chaturanga)

An island a mile in length and width with high groundwater table from seawater is technically the most suitable place on earth for burial of unfortunate COVID-19 victims? The real victims in this would be the hapless residents. Time will tell. This feature says there are 165 families. Another says 12 to 15? Interesting.
