Jacqueline and family members received luxury gifts, BMW, Porsche from Sukesh Chandrashekhar: ED chargesheet

Sri Lankan born actress Jacqueline Fernandez reportedly seems to have accepted expensive gifts including luxury cars by conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar who not only gifted her but also gifted her family members these super luxury items including a BMW and Porsche.

India's Enforcement Directorate, probing conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar in the Indian rupees 200 crore money laundering case, in its chargesheet said he introduced himself to actor Jacqueline Fernandez as 'Shekhar Ratna Vela'.

After he reportedly failed in his first attempt to get in touch with her in December 2020, the agency reveals he approached the actor through her makeup artist, Shaan Muttathil in January 2021.

Shaan reportedly got a call from someone claiming to be a government official who informed that the actor must get in touch with Shekhar Ratna Vela, a 'very important person'. In her statement to the agency, the actor claimed she received gifts like two pairs of diamond earrings, two Hermes bracelets, three Birkin bags, Gucci outfits, a multi-coloured bracelet of stones and a pair of Louis Vuitton shoes from the conman.

Chandrashekhar, on the other hand, in his statement shared that he had given as many as 15 pairs of earrings, five Birkin bags, and other luxury goods to Jacqueline Fernandez. Chandrashekhar also claimed that he gifted the actress Cartier bangles and rings and a bracelet by Tiffany & Co. in addition to Rolex watches.

He said he gave the actor gifts worth Rs 7 crore in jewelry alone, besides gifting her 'Espuelah', a horse. He also reportedly gifted her a luxury car which Jacqueline claimed she returned. Chandrashekhar's generosity reportedly extended to her family as well. He gave a loan of USD 150,000 to the actor's US-based sister and also gave her a BMW X5. In addition, he also gifted the actor's parents a Maserati and a Porsche. He also extended a loan of USD 50,000 to her brother.

Meanwhile, the actor, in her statement claimed Sukesh Chandrashekhar introduced himself to her as the owner of Sun TV and a member of a political family who showed keenness in signing her in 'many film projects'. Furthermore, the actor said that she used to visit showrooms from where she would send Chandrashekhar a list of the items she wanted, who, in turn, would pay for them and got them delivered to her either in person or through his aides.
