Japan grants Sri Lanka 40,000 MT of diesel for healthcare transport

Colombo, Feb 19 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka has received a grant of 40,000 metric tons of diesel from the Japanese government designated to fortify transportation services within Sri Lanka's healthcare system, particularly benefiting ambulance operations.

The formal handover ceremony was held at the the Colombo Port today in the presence of Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mizukoshi Hideaki and Minister of Health and Industry Dr. Ramesh Pathirana.

Furthermore, to ensure transparent and accountable management of the diesel resources, authorities have introduced a sophisticated Fuel Management Information System (FIMS), which will meticulously track the distribution of the diesel across healthcare institutions, maintaining detailed records of fuel allocations to vehicles and facilities.

Please ensure the health staff allocated to manage the supply of fuel does not misuse the donation. From the lowest to the highest level all these public services staff are corrupt! Some minor staff more better off that doc’s.

Digital Solutions is the way to effectively minimise corruption. It should be noted, fuel pilfering is done by the lower strata (drivers, petrol shed attendants) of our society. The best way stop someone from taking bribes it to NOT GIVE the bribes. But it is non politicians (civilians) who actually give the bribes. But only the politicians are blamed.

Japan has not learnt a lesson through Pagapala the Great (Sacked by Gota - taken by Ponaya) due to Japanese bribery case. Such people are still there and waiting to drag all public assets. Do not donate anything to the government - donate directly to needy groups!
