Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka H.E. Akio Isomata congratulating the newly elected Parliament commended the people of Sri Lanka for their active engagement for a peaceful and democratic parliamentary election. 

Issuing a statement today Ambassador Isomata said friendship between Japan and Sri Lanka has grown stronger throughout the history. 

“Japan is confident that the elections on 14 November along with the Presidential election in September in Sri Lanka mark the beginning of a new chapter in further strengthening our bilateral relationship. 

Japan looks forward to working closely with the government, newly-elected parliamentarians and people of Sri Lanka, to achieve peace and prosperity in our countries and in the world, further deepening mutual trust and strengthening the bounds of friendship between our two countries,” the statement said.
