Jayanthi becomes first Sri Lankan to summit Mount Everest

Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala sumitted Mount Everest this morning becoming the first Sri Lankan to do so.

Two Sri Lankans, Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala former journalist and Johann Peris left for Nepal on March 28 to climb Mount Everest.

Congratulations to Jayanthi Karu-Utumpola and Nishi Uggalla. Both great achievers. Sri Lankan people are very intelligent and capable people and excel when they go abroad. I suppose they get more opportunities to show their capabilities and achieve their goals. Why can't our POLITICIANS take an example from our people and work for the betterment of our Country and not behave like Lords Almighty" and think they own the Country.
