Jeewan Thondaman to be arrested

Nuwara Eliya, July 22 (Daily Mirror) - The acting Magistrate of Nuwara Eliya has instructed the Nuwara Eliya Police to arrest and produce Ceylon Workers' Congress (CWC) General Secretary Minister Jeevan Thondaman to court.

Thondaman accused of taking the law into his own hands, behaving disorderly, and threatening police officers and management at a Nuwara Eliya tea estate on May 31.

Nuwara Eliya Police had summoned Thondaman and other suspects to appear in court today (22) regarding the incident.

However, none of the suspects appeared, prompting lawyers representing the estate company to present the case details to the court.

Accordingly, the Magistrate ordered the police to arrest Thondaman and the other suspects involved in the incident and produce them before the court.

Very grateful the courts are exercising true justice lately. These kinds of thugs must be removed in the next elections. Need good quality educated and young professionals to run the government productively and professionally. Once people respect politicians, the country progresses accordingly. Most of the current and previous batches of so called politicians are a laughing stock of comedians who just want power and ways to enrich themselves. Not following the Rule Of Law and prefers to manipulate the system.

A minister or any other citizen of this country should respect and obey the judiciary. Nobody can take the in to their hands. Therefore he should be arrested and produced before the the court by the police even before he is surrendering himself by means of the lawyers
