This is the common practice of JVP in almost every election. To attend JVP propaganda work they create some trouble in the Universities make them close.

This happens only in Sri Lanka. Students used for political gains.

What's the first thought that came to mind about who is behind this?

As usual, the Marxist party is the bane of Sri Lanka! These people have nothing else in their DNA but violence, aggression, envy, hatred, jealousy and hypocrisy. Just imagine a party of this nature and attitude coming to power. They do not believe in any religion but worship Kal Marx. The beginning of a decadent society.

"Nothing that is human alien to me." - Marx.
You are probably referring to a Marx in your hypocrisy, but not Karl Marx, who is one of the greatest philosophers and political economy thinkers of the 19th century.

JVP led student unions have been doing this for decades.

Each of the 4 widely known candidates have alleged links to individual rights violations, either directly or through their father, I am surprised that all the above commentators, especially those using pseudonyms, single out one group. None of the candidates have said what they will do to guarantee individual rights except revising PT Act. Without individual rights what good is economic freedom?

Only way to stop this nonsense is to make them pay even a small amount for their education. Then they will have to work part time in ALL other countries and will have less time to create chaos like this.

Where are the part time jobs. how much will they be paid if they find one, training may not be there for some jobs It is a big complex issue at the heart of Sri Lanka's problems, an education system that has failed the youth and society due to meddling by politicians.

Unions must pay the government hefty amounts in order to be doing what they are doing. If distrupt, all members must be expelled.

Close it forever! These hooligans don't want any education, they are a curse!!!. They only want to create chaos. This is what happens when you enjoy life at someone else's expense! Future leaders who are going to rule the country! God bless Sri Lanka!
