Justice Minister apologises to Speaker for addressing him ‘Your Honour’

Colombo, January 9 (Daily Mirror) - Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakkara extended an apology for inadvertently addressing the Speaker as ‘Your Honour’ in Parliament today.

The Minister, while responding to an oral question, addressed the Speaker as "Your Hounor" and after it was brought to his notice by the fellow MPs, he soon apoligised to the House.

“I’m still getting out of the habit of being in court. I do apologise to the House,” he said.

The Minister was responding to a question raised by MP Chitralal Fernando at the time.

Here we go sir you have given slpp sjp and unp a bone now they will be chewing this as a big big big issue. Found a very serious fault they will ask you to resign. Hahaha .nothing to do Found some thing. Stackable offence???.apologised and matter done and dusted. Other parties relax now.

There are more pressing issues than this so please please think before you talk always concentrate on where you are and be vigilant about your environment so we can put an end to all these unwanted slip ups, AKD needs your full effort in restructuring the AG’department but when you behave like a clown everything falls apart so please do the Job that people elected you to do .
