Katunayake-Colombo Expressway closed from 2pm to 3pm today

Colombo, April 24 (Daily Mirror) - In view of the Iranian President's visit, Katunayake - Colombo Expressway will be closed from 2 pm to 3 pm and 9:30 pm to 10:30 pm today, police announced.

They stated that several roads in Colombo between Lotus roundabout, Presidential Secretariat, President's House in Fort, and NSA roundabout will also be closed in the afternoon. The road from Mattala to Uma Oya will be closed from 9.45 am to 11 am.

These closures of major roads are an inconvenience to the public. Presidents house in Fort and Presidential Secretariat and such places should be moved close to the airport in a centralized location where road closures will not affect the common man.

Correct, but not now. Too many needy people suffering with limited meals and medical care. Once situation is better in 50 years times, a review should be done. Till then, just endure the inconveniences or limit the VIPs arrivals.

They are not ready for modern warfare alone. Can’t manage with obsolete assets. Surprisingly, lots of senior officers holding big titles/ ranks but managing equipment fit for recycling. They are just around to protect the regime incase they are bumped off illegally i suppose!

Cops wanted to put a man on my balcony as my house was on the route. I refused . They try this very often and I refuse. They just go away . They are supposed to put cops on high rise buildings which are under construction or deserted. But these morons come to residential houses. What about an apartment block that has a dozen balconies facing the road.
