Colombo, August 08 (Daily Mirror) - Former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella who was arrested over the import of substandard Immunoglobulin injections, was further remanded until August 22 by the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court.

The former Health Minister was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on February 24, 2024.

Meanwhile, the court granted bail to former Health Secretary Janaka Chandraguptha and former Additional Health Secretary who were in remand custody in connection with the import of substandard Immunoglobulin injections

Keheliya deserves this and by now he would understand the sufferings of the ppl who lost eye sights and others who died due to substandard medicine he had imported n made money. The court should not release him and he should be ordered to pay substantial compensation from millions of funds he has in the banks and dispose his properties to pay innocent victims.

Can anyone verify his living conditions whilst in remand? Might be having a separate wing with “Resort Like” facilities and meals at the expense of taxpayers. Is he being made to do cleaning and other chores similarly with other prisoners or is still being served by others? Authorities should be clear on this matter if not lots of speculation. Everyone despises him and those involved in this serious crime.
