Kelaniya university student falls to death from hostel

University of Kelaniya Colombo, Oct 23 (Daily Mirror) - A fourth-year student at Kelaniya University has died after falling from the upper floor of the university's C.W.W. Kannangara Hostel early this morning.

Police said the student was admitted to the Kiribathgoda Hospital but had succumbed to his injuries.

The Kelaniya Police are currently investigating the incident.

Is this the new trend now? Don't blame international schools, after all this is a university student who has attended a local school! It is high time there are awareness programmes island wide, in schools, universities, offices, wherever possible. First of all, educate the public that feeling depressed and reaching out to someone for help is extremely normal and that the person reaching out is not MAD but is ABSOLUTELY NORMAL!! It is not a topic for GOSSIP!!! We have a very very long way to go in these matters!
