Colombo, Dec. 5 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lankan weightlifter Dilanka Kumara won two Bronze Medals at the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Grand Prix 2023 event held in Doha, Qatar.

This tournament conducted by the IWF as a 2024 Paris Olympics Games Qualification event, will continue till December 14.

Kumara (55kg), Indika Dissanayaka (73kg) and Hansani Gomes (49kg) have been selected for the tournament based on the SLWF Rankings.

Kumara won the 55kg category clean and jerk event (133kg) collected a total of 245kg and managed to win the Bronze Medal.

The weight he lifted in the snatch event was 112kg.

Meanwhile, Gomes failed to win a medal in the 49kg event but managed to create Sri Lanka records in the snatch (75kg) with a total of 164kg.
