Kusal Mendis was taken to the hospital after the player suffered cramps upon returning from the field after his brilliant knock of 122 runs from 77 balls in the ongoing game vs. Pakistan.

Dushan Hemantha is on the field for Mendis, while Sadeera Samarawickrama has taken over the wicket keeping duties in the absence of Mendis.

It's better to be unfit and deliver than fit and be an on the field spectator. The team has many of them - K Perera, D De Silva, Shanaka, Pathirana. Only time will tell about Maheesh.

Kusal Mendis is one of the best in the trade.His innings against Pakistan along with Sameera's century and half century from Pathum was the prime reason which caused much celebrated bowling into pieces. why SL was defeated? Selection dilemma. Our bowling department works with three and a half bowlers. Sri Lanka have precedents. Captain of the team hade been benched. Only way to play the rest of the matches is to bench Captain Shanaka and drop Dhananjaya and Pathirana.Give chances to spinner Hemantha, Chamika Karunaratne , test captain Dimuth and Lahiru Kumara. Right combination is important. Young Wellalage can bat at No.6.Willl the management take appropriate action?
