LG polls: Nominations to be accepted from Jan. 18

The Elections Commission has announced that nominations for the Local Government Election will be accepted from January 18 to 21.

Accordingly, the nominations will be accepted until 12:00 noon on January 21.

We need President and Parliamentary elections as the six months for the Interim Government is over after one month.Does SL constitution permits more than six months? Nobody has power to occupy Parliament seats without people's mandate.LG Election is a wastage of money at this crucial juncture

It is a good move by the election department in Sri Lanka. People desperately need a mandate of choosing a president and parliamentarians situation like this. financial institutions were collapsed , no GDP in the country and some part of the valuable part being sold by the previous governments. It is give power to people and let them choose the government rather than pushing unknown forces to the front and killing innocent civilians which cause major collapse near future..
