LITRO increases LP gas prices

The prices of 12.5kg domestic LITRO gas cylinders has been incresed by Rs. 145 with effect from today,

LITRO Lanka Chairman Muditha Peiris said. Accordingly, the new retail price of the 12.5kg gas cylinder will be Rs. 3,127.

The 5 kg gas cylinder will be incresed by Rs. 58 and the 2.3 kg cylinder will be incresed by Rs. 26 from tonight.

Accordingly, the new retail price of the 5 kg gas cylinder will be Rs. 1,256 and the price of 2.3 kg will be Rs. 587.

Peiris highlighted the significant increase of over 100 US dollars per metric ton of gas in the international market.

"The gas price was increased due to global prices," he said.

In July, Litro Gas earlier announced the reduction of the retail price of a 12.5kg domestic Litro gas cylinder to Rs. 2,982.

The 5 kg gas cylinder was brought to Rs. 1,198, and the retail price of the 2.3 kg cylinder was brought to Rs.561. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)

Ok. From tomorrow the all Ceylon canteens will increase yea cup by 5/- and lunch packet by 10/- (the least) and the ‘common’ man will be commenting about calling for elections or ministers to resign! Not knowing the capacity of a gas cylinder in terms of cups of tea or lunch packets. Some ‘top notch’ canteens will increase food packets by 145/-
