Lawyers who oppose acting IGP linked to drug traffickers’ cases: Tiran Alles

Colombo, Dec 18 (Daily Mirror) - Public Security Minister Tiran Alles alleged that certain lawyers who opposed the appointment of Deshabandu Tennakoon as the Acting Inspector General of Police are now appearing on behalf of cases filed by the court against notorious drug traffickers.

The Minister disclosed that these lawyers are earning billions of rupees from such cases.

Earlier, Minister Alles said that he and the Acting IGP are committed to cracking down on narcotic drugs and the underworld, irrespective of certain objections or pressures.

Accordingly, the Police launched a special island-wide operation yesterday. As a result, over 2,000 suspects have been arrested within a 24-hour period, and a substantial quantity of narcotic drugs seized.

So according to Alles when a case is just filed, someone is guilty. Then you and 225 others and IGP will all be guilty. There is room for defence when thugs like you in power and with subservient AG file a case and hurrah - you expect guilty verdict. So you say Lawyer for defence also guilty for appearing. These are our Ministers.

Acting IGP is human rights violator and according to the facts recently revealed his minister in charge is accusing for laundering of ill gotten money in Pandora papers both are very serious accusations but they just moving forward like nothing happened, SriLanka heaven for bad people

It’s the Professional Duty Responsibility of all Lawyers - educated and taken the Oaths in that profession to study the BRIEF and appear on behalf of alleged Suspects and defend those suspects!!!??? That's nothing new!!!??? Bounden duty of those who have taken that oath! The Lawyers charge a fee for doing so on the Merits of the case and available evidence!!!??? That is the means of the Lawyers Livelihood!!?? That's according to the Roman-Dutch Law and English common Law which SL follows and until after representation of the Prosecution and Defence Attorneys in the courts (Magistrate, High Court etc.,) and found guilty by the courts, THEN AND THEN ONLY they are termed as criminals, (IRC) and NOT any time before!!! Ways to publish his name in Papers!!!???

Materially No Substance!!! PUSWEDILLA!!!??? Lawyers can earn more money when the drug traffickers are caught and charged. Why would they oppose catching them. They are paid for trials. This is a ridiculous argument. The public opposes Deshabandu and Alles because they are corrupt and in bed with the corrupt.

Acting IGP is NOT qualified under any circumstances including and more so after the Apex Court of the nation has ruled he violated the FR of citizens. The office of the IGP calls upon the holder of that office to be of impeccable credentials,, moral fortitude - a person who is principled and not a boot licker, lackey or a monkey that dances to the tune of politicians of ill repute. Tiran Alles is no saint - an equal scum bag or worse. He too should have resigned and vacated public office upon discovery that contrary to Sri Lankan law he has stashed away wealth through devious tax manipulating schemes. After all Tiran and Desabandu are dogs of the Rajapakse household.
