Colombo, June 03 (Daily Mirror) - Legal action will be taken against 981 establishments where mosquito breeding places were detected during the National Mosquito Control Week held from May 26 to June 01, Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry said.
According to the statistics, during the past seven days, 93,874 premises had been inspected by special teams and had found 4,890 places which had mosquito larvae.
Furthermore, 25,372 houses were identified as possible mosquito breeding sites.
Accordingly, legal action will be taken against the owners of 981 premises. Notices had been issued for 3,121 premises.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, 25,095 dengue cases have been reported from all over the island as of June 03.
