Lotus Tower declared open

The Lotus Tower, South Asia’s largest tower, was declared open by President Maithripala Sirisena a short while ago.

USD 104 million has been spent for construction of the tower and eighty per cent of the cost has been funded by the EXIM Bank of China.

The tower comprises a telecommunication museum, a restaurant, supermarkets, food courts, conference halls with seating for 400 people, a 1,000-seat auditorium, luxury hotel rooms, ballrooms and an observation gallery.

Eighty per cent of $ 104. Million given by China and we will be paying interest for 10 years . Long time ago Sri Lankans were taught to live according to your means but this Government prefer to pawn the future of the people to see some shining lights. And believe it or not in 2012 the government has paid Rs: 2 billion to a non excisting company and that money can not be traced. How many patriotic politicians would have benefited from that Rs: 2 million and from this $104 million what was their cut. Good luck boys and girls.

I am just wondering how good the security going to be for this tower. Just had a attack in Saudi Arabia too. Its good to think in advance, before anything happen.
