Colombo, August 30 (Daily Mirror) - The Colombo Lotus Tower will be illuminated in red on September 01, to mark the commencement of World Alzheimer’s Month, the Colombo Lotus Tower Management Company (Private) Limited announced.

So we have obtained loan in billions to put up a tower to light up for special occasions... Nice... With due respect for the cause of the lighting these are all our monies which are spent on unwanted building and structures for a country of our situation.....

Country was better then but these white elephant projects expedited and commissions made created the bankrupt-miracle and the black money in circulation caused many forms of crimes, also alarming or warning lights of the election month.

These projects did not bankrupt the country. Ok one could say that the tower is of no use but all other projects were viable but successive yahapalana government made sure that those ended up in failure to prove their point. I think Sira was the worst President we ever had who has made millions during his time. Even this tower is making good money now. But I personally do like this tower which is short and ugly looking compared with other similar towers .
