Low-pressure area over Bay of Bengal may bring thundershowers from tomorrow

Colombo, November 12 (Daily Mirror) - The formation of a low-pressure area over the south-west Bay of Bengal today may lead to thundershowers in most parts of the island from November 13, the Meteorology Department said.

They said that thundershowers are expected under the influence of this low-pressure area and the resulting atmospheric conditions.

Meanwhile, several spells of showers are anticipated in the Northern Province, with showers or thundershowers likely in several areas during the evening or night.

Fairly heavy showers, exceeding 50 mm, are expected in the Eastern, Central, Uva, Sabaragamuwa, and Southern Provinces.

Misty conditions may occur in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva Provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts during the morning.

The public is advised to take precautions to minimise damage from temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
