MR praises operation to net drug traffickers
Colombo, Dec 27 (Daily Mirror) - Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa praised the operation launched to net drug traffickers, claiming that it was a progressive move by the government.
He told reporters that drugs have ruined the young generation.
"Drugs have destroyed the whole country and the younger generation. So, it is a good move by the government to net the drug traffickers," he said.

Over 90% of the drugs that come into Sri Lanka is from India, sent across the sea. Those Indians are waiting for this police operation to finish to restart the supply. Once this successful operation is completed and major drug gangs are apprehended, then slowly the Indians would make contact with Upcountry Estate Indian Tamils living in Sri Lanka and in Canada, and plan on different routes on transporting from India across the sea and within Sri Lanka.
