Maheesh Theekshana to have scan on injury today

Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana could potentially miss Sunday's Asia Cup final against India after sustaining a hamstring strain during Thursday's Super 4 match against Pakistan.

Theekshana injured himself while attempting to stop a boundary, and while he returned to bowl, he was visibly debilitated and in pain.

Sri Lanka Cricket said the player will undergo a scan today to fully assess his condition.

It is a very big loss to Srilanka Thus Theekshana is a world class spinner whose bowls are very mysterious. Further his service is required by the captain Shanaka Even for the forthcoming World Cup series. Therefore he may recover soon.

Afterall coming to the finals beating Pakistan on a nail biting game, if either Mahes plays or not we must have a substitute to replace him. By the way, where is our sports minister? We did not see him any of our matches? Ranil should replace him with Dayasiri soon.

Currently, Sri Lanka doesn't have a replacement for his purpose. As we don't have a good fast bowler attack and Matheesha is very expensive at the initial overs, that avoid is filled by Theekshana in 1st power play. As a replacement, we can bring back Wanidu, but he is good at middle-overs.
