Former Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage announced his retirement from active politics this morning (16).

He revealed this during a media conference at the Mahindananda Aluthgamage Foundation office in Nawalapitiya.

Reflecting on his extensive political career, Aluthgamage noted that his family had played a significant role in the political landscape of the Nawalapitiya constituency for over seven decades. 

He highlighted his own contributions, which spanned more than 30 years of public service.
