A meeting between President Maithripala Sirisena and former president Mahinda Rajapaksa had reportedly taken place at a residence of one of the SLFP MPs in Colombo recently, political sources said.
They said the meeting could lead to a change in the political landscape of the country. However, what was discussed at the meeting is not known.

What ever "hunger" they may be having - they may PROPOSE *between themselves) but (finally) PROVIDENCE (i.e. karma or God) DISPOSES.

They might have discussed about their own family benifits, MR might have asked avoid arrest and not to making case against his family member, MS might have asked his family security if MR comes to power. Not sure about country or SLFP or Dollar incresed. Might, might ,

Take a few seconds and contemplate as to who is responsible for this. Why do the UNP have to go fishing for a Presidential Candidate ? It is because the UNP leader can not win an election. So without further delay, the UNP needs a new charismatic leader. This is the root cause for the debacle.

Sira Sunday, 07 October 2018 08:05 PM
The problem is the people available in the UNP to replace Ranil are the sons of former rotten leaders. We do not want dynasties to rule us like in India.

If criminality exists, why not arrest? Could it be just a Buzz word of the yahapaluwas to cover their instability and inefficiency for their imminent defeat of whatever the election they prefer to hold.

Power sharing? Do you know that if the President dies, PM would becomes President as per the constitution which other section of it says, MR can’t contest twice. Don’t be thick and think like Rajapaksa.

Media people must be loving this,,they will give maximum publicity to show that a caretaker Govt with their favourite MR is possible ,,,but any fool knows the present UNP whether we like it or not has the support of 122 MPs and therefore the Govt cannot be toppled,,no point wasting time and money ,,over something that cannot happen,,its just power hungryness of MS and MR reflected.,, where is MS promise in 2015 when he took oaths not to seek reelection again,,nothing good will happen to whoever goes back on his word.

Now we know why the pace of investigations on all corruptions and abuse of power has got nowhere. Last time round, his poker faced look won him the presidency with much help from the UNP, next time people will be wiser, let us hope!
