Man nabbed for sexually abusing Woman Police Constable

Colombo, Feb. 19 (Daily Mirror)- A man was arrested for sexually abusing a Woman Police Constable (WPC) attached to the Police Children & Women's Bureau headquarters.

The suspect, a 43 year-old man from Madulawa, Padukka is a clerk of the Engineering Corporation.

Police investigations revealed that the WPC had been sexually abused while she was travelling home on a bus after work.

He messed with the wrong woman. When I was 20 years old I had to go in a jam packed bus and was sexually assaulted by a man leaning on me..Couldn't do anything other than feel violated until I got off the bus. I am so glad the WPC took action. It is a win for women like myself who had to grit and bear and live with it.
