Marajudeen to box at World Junior Meet

COLOMBO, Nov 23 (Daily Mirror) - Tuan Marajudeen of Zahira College, Colombo has been selected as the sole Sir Lankan representative for the World Junior Boxing Championships conducted by the International Boxing Association (IBA) and scheduled to commence in Yerevan, Armenia tomorrow.

The championship will see the top junior boxers from around the globe vying for honors over 11 days which is slated to end on December 4.

Marajudeen, who made his boxing debut last year at the L. V. Jayaweera Boxing Championship, has maintained his supremacy in the schools boxing arena.

Following his success at this meet he went on to taste success at the T. B. Jayah Novices Boxing Meet and ended the year by coming on top at the Stubbs Shield Championship.

He continued his domination at the Junior National Championships and the Stubbs Shield meet this year and went through an international boxing training camp in New Delhi, India.

Marajudeen will be accompanied by two officials, his Coach Abdullah Ibunu and Amila Thandakka, Principal of Dharmasoka College, Ratnapura as the Manager.
