Measures to prevent crop damage from animals within two months



The Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation Ministry said that they will implement a work plan to minimise the damage caused by wild animals to food crops within two months.

The Ministry said the Hector Kobbekaduwa Agricultural Research and Training Institute has pointed out that 30–40% of the crop is damaged in the country due to destruction by wild animals.

Therefore, the Agriculture, Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation Minister, Mahinda Amaraweera, advised the officials to take steps to implement an appropriate work order within two months to prevent crop damage caused by wild animals. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
