Minister Harin sends letter to AKD regarding foreign trips

Colombo, July 25 (Daily Mirror) - Minister Harin Fernando has responded to a statement made by leader of the National People’s Power (NPP), Anura Kumara Dissanayake, regarding the expenses for foreign trips undertaken by Fernando.

Dissanayake recently criticized Fernando, alleging that despite his extensive travels abroad, there has been no real increase in tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka.

Addressing a public meeting in Japan, Dissanayake said he will disclose all expenses incurred during his recent foreign visits within a few days after concluding his visit to Japan. He called on President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Tourism Minister Harin Fernando, and Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara to reveal the expenses incurred by the state for their foreign tours.

In response, Minister Fernando said that he has sent a letter to Dissanayake containing information on all his foreign trips.

In the letter, Minister Harin Fernando expressed his strong condemnation of what he described as baseless and contemptuous accusations. He urged Anura Kumara Dissanayake to correct the misleading statements.
