More artistes take to active politics

Colombo, October 09 (Daily Mirror)- Sri Lanka is to see the common phenomenon of artistes entering into politics at this year’s General Elections as well with a number of artistes entering the fray for the first time.

Veteran Sri Lankan actor Kamal Addaraarachchi announced his decision to contest at the upcoming General Elections. Addaraarchchi told the media that he will contest from the Devana Parapura Party which is led by Uvindu Wijeweera, the son of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) founder leader late Rohana Wijeweera.

In addition, actress Damitha Abeyratne is contesting the General Elections from the Ratnapura district. She is to represent the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB).

Trying to cash-in on something good, without an iota of understanding as to why it happened. Do we have to waste our time trying to understand the mental capacity of these clowns? Raise the deposit amount to at least a Million SLR. We could feed the not so fortunate children starving in SL. (I am aware that legislative changes are required here)
