Most MPs set to align with SJB rejected by NPP: Anura Kumara
Anuradhapura, July 30 (Daily Mirror)- Most of the Parliamentarians who are said to be forming an alliance with the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) on August 8 had sought to join the National People's Power (NPP) but were rejected due to their bad political history, NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said today.
Speaking at a farmers' rally in Bulnewa, Anuradhapura, he said the NPP will never get the support of MPs who were responsible for the destruction of the country.
"Most of the MPs who are said to form an alliance with the SJB on August 8 discussed with us to align with the NPP. We refused to align with them. We will not take anyone who has been engaged in the destruction of the country and have supported wrong decisions," he said.

Yes, all you have is 71 and 88/89. What about rest of the 73 years? Did JVP did somethings on those years to stop the rapid development of SL? Did they steal public funds like Tsunami, Hedgin, Bond Scam, MIG27, VFS? Those were some major in last 20yrs. Hope you remember at least those names.

Funny...I don't think there are any other political parties or popular political groupings (outside of JVP) associated with the JVP and the NPP. JVP does not want any other such figures outside of them joining their alliance. That is their downfall.

So, what choice do we have? Vote in the proven crooks or take a chance on people who may be with empty bags? We cannot fall any lower than we have. Next is mass starvation and people driven to stealing through necessity. RW was given the chance, this time by MR. He is not doing the right thing because of fear and obligation.
