Colombo, September 21 (Daily Mirror) - The recently concluded presidential election will go down in history as the most peaceful ever held in Sri Lanka, according to the Election Commission.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Election Commission Chairman R.M.A.L. Ratnayake stated that no incidents of violence were reported during the voting period.

The main reason is that the major political parties had lost a lot of power leading up to the election. It's pretty clear who was responsible for the violence in the past elections -- it was always the blue, green, or the color of the pohottuwa party.
